About

Everyone needs a little time for themselves. Time to relax, rejuvenate, and forget about everything.

Rachel graduated in June 2000 from the prestigious Essentials For Health training school in London. Here she achieved her ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, followed by a Distinction in Clinical Aromatherapy. In addition to this, she successfully gained a Distinction for her ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology from Richdales Institute of London.

For 6 years, Rachel lived and worked on Mustique, a very beautiful, private island in the middle of the Caribbean. During her time on the island she managed the Cotton House Spa, part of the luxury 5* Cotton House Resort. Treating guests to her Holistic Aromatherapy and Massage skills, she created signature spa treatments using local produce, and worked with her own bespoke blends. Rachel’s experience on the island also involved working as a freelance therapist, allowing her clients to be treated within the comfort, and privacy of their homes. Wanting to share her skills, she also established a training programme for the local men and women, teaching them the basics of Massage and Aromatherapy in a voluntary capacity.

As a freelance therapist, she now divides her time working with clients between Salisbury and London. Some of her work has included volunteer therapist with the Terrence Higgins Trust in London, and consulting/providing treatments for a Rehabilitation Centre. Whilst living in Devon, she worked with Yeotown, (www.yeotown.com ) the idyllic Health Retreat, set deep within the lush rolling hills of North Devon.
.
For over a year Rachel worked as Complementary Therapist for the Wessex Cancer Trust in Salisbury, until it’s closure in July 2019. Recognising the positive impact that such a facility had on the local community, Rachel and several other passionate volunteers set about creating a similar service and in September 2019  Cancer Support Salisbury was born. The group offers practical, and emotional support to anyone affected by cancer. In addition to being one of the founding members and Chairperson, Rachel  also provides regular sessions of Complementary Therapies, which include Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Massage, during, and alongside the weekly drop-in.
.
Since returning to the UK in 2010, Rachel has moved with her photographer husband Dale (www.dalecurtis.co.uk ) and island dog Cocoa, from London to Devon and back to her birthplace, Salisbury.

Rachel is a member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, fully insured, and holds a First Aid Certificate.
